PMP (Project Management Professional) is the certification that is given by Project Management Institute. Question 1 How to obtain the PMP (Project Management professional) certification?

Answer: To obtain the certification the professional requires being eligible for the registration of the course. You should login to the website and study the minimum eligibility requirement to have the certification. You should check the site time to time so that you came to know about the difference in the eligibility criteria if there is any change done by PMI. Once your application gets processed you will get a letter which will give you the detailed instruction to take the PMP exam.

Question 2 what should I do if my eligibility expires before I took the exam?

Answer:  If the eligibility of a candidate expires, they need to submit a short application form within one year of their expiration of the eligibility condition. In case the expiration is more than one year, the candidate need to submit a new application. When the candidate is submitting the short or the full application, the candidate is required to make a payment of full certification fee for the exam.

Question 3 How can I retake the exam and how often?

Answer:  The application of the PMP exam consist of 6 parts. In the first section you need enter you details, employment detail if any. Select the business type if you are employed. Then in the next page enter The details for the courses done through the PMI sponsored chapter, fees, and your educational background, experience of project management, special conditions if you need it, mode of payment. You should sign the page after reading the policies of agreement, and extension, and of refund given in the handbook. Enter the specific education that you have in relation to the project management. At last enter your details like name PMI number, address and other details. And after entering every detail checking it submit the application form. After your submission you will get your letter of acceptance with the test details.

Question 5 what do you mean by contact hour? Is it same in all other PMI certifications?

Answer: Contact hours are the actual duration of time that the candidate spends in receiving the instruction in the project management of in any of the 5 domains of the project management. The contact hours are not same for all the programs. The contact hour program is not equal to PDUs or CEUs. The candidates can submit any of the training program cases, on job training, seminars, teaching cases that include project management or any of its 5 domains. The candidate can not submit any independent class hour as contact hour.

Question 6 which all documents is needed to send with the application form?

Answer: When you are submitting your application form, there is no need to submit any documents along with the form. But you can have random auditing process to check the applications. In case you are selected for the audit you are provided by a letter mailed by U.S. mail stating the instruction you need to perform for the completion of your audit.

  Question 7 Whether the Certifications are accepted widely or not?

Answer: The certification for PMP is being offered at the Prometric testing centre. It has working days during the normal working period, except holidays. You cannot schedule your test till you receive your eligibility certificate.

  Question 8 what is the pattern of exam?

Answer: The test paper of the PMP exam consist of 200 questions with a passing score of 137 marks. The test of PMP is for two hours in which you need to complete the 200 given questions. The candidate can find various resources for the preparation online as we as can have various boos and guides.
